Hardwood vs treated pine
Both options are full timber paling fences built to Australian standards. Hardwood gives you longer life and richer grain for visible boundaries; treated pine keeps the cost down on the long side and back runs where look matters less. Most jobs we quote end up being a mix of the two.

What We Install
How we build a timber fence
There’s a right way and a slow way and a fast way to build a paling fence. We do it the right way: H4 posts in concrete, two galvanised rails (three on 2.1m), palings cut on site to the run, then capped or topped to your spec.
Our Standard Side Boundary Paling fence uses C section Posts that are concreted 500 to 600 mm deep. Also, they use 3 horizontal rails of 75 x 50 mm dimension for attaching the palings. The palings are overlapped and double nailed. As a result, you are assured of wooden fencing that has a neat and clean finish.

Treated pine, properly installed: 12–18 years before posts need attention. Hardwood: 20–30+ years. The two killers are ground contact (fixed by the H4 post and concrete) and water in cap-end grain (fixed by capping). We address both as standard.
Yes — under the QLD Neighbourhood Disputes Act, a dividing fence is a shared cost between adjoining owners. We supply a written quote you can pass over and we’ll bill in two halves once both sides agree.
If you want the fence finished, we come back at the four-week mark (once the timber has had time to settle and dry) and apply a stain or oil. Or we can leave it raw for you to do and we’ll point you at the right Cabot’s or Intergrain product.
