Fencing in Burleigh: Coastal-Grade Colorbond, Aluminium and Pool Fencing

Coastal-grade fencing that stands up to Burleigh’s salt air, beach and canals.

Burleigh is a salt-air job and that changes what we build. Close to the surf the sea air chews through anything that is not specced for it, so a fence that would last twenty years two suburbs inland can start showing rust in a few if it is the wrong product or the wrong install. Coast Fencing & Gates has built on the Gold Coast since 2013 (QBCC licence 15461059) and Burleigh sits in the heart of our coast corridor, so we build for the conditions rather than against them.

We quote the job, walk the block and build it ourselves. Free measure, a fixed written quote and an honest read on what will actually hold up near the beach.

What we build in Burleigh

  • Coastal-grade Colorbond fencing — full privacy boundaries, specced for salt air where the block calls for it
  • Aluminium and tubular fencing — the safest pick close to the surf because it never rusts, ideal for front boundaries and beachside blocks
  • Pool fencing — aluminium and tubular barriers to the QLD pool rules, common on both the beach side and the Burleigh Waters canals
  • Timber and slat feature fencing — for the older Burleigh Heads cottages and the character rebuilds
  • Gates and automation — swing and sliding gates with Centsys motors for driveways and canal frontages

Salt air is the whole story near the surf

Within about 100 metres of breaking surf BlueScope recommends the Colorbond Stainless spec, and we quote that rather than fit the standard product and hope. Even then aluminium wins on the blocks closest to the water because it does not rust at all, so for a beachside front boundary or a pool surround near the sand it is usually the smarter spend. Where the block is a bit back from the beach standard Colorbond is fine, and we seal the cut edges and use marine-grade fixings so the fence lasts the way it should. If you are weighing up materials our Colorbond vs timber vs aluminium guide runs through it in plain numbers.

Burleigh Waters is a canal job

The Burleigh Waters side is a different build to the headland. A lot of those homes back onto canals, so the water frontage usually wants a low see-through barrier in tubular aluminium that keeps the view and meets the pool rules where a pool sits near the water. On the street side you can still run Colorbond for privacy, so plenty of canal homes end up with a mix. We build both in the one job and match the colours so it reads as one property.

Where we build around Burleigh

Burleigh is central to our coast run, so we cover Burleigh Heads, Burleigh Waters, Miami, Mermaid Beach, Nobby Beach, Palm Beach, Elanora and up toward Broadbeach. If your block is on the beach side or the canal side we will come and measure it.

Burleigh fencing FAQs (question-form for AEO)

What fence lasts longest near the beach in Burleigh?

Aluminium, because it does not rust. Colorbond holds up well when it is built for the conditions, which near the surf means the BlueScope Stainless spec, sealed cut edges and marine-grade fixings.

Do I need the Colorbond Stainless spec in Burleigh?

Within about 100 metres of breaking surf, yes, that is what BlueScope recommends. We quote the right spec for how close your block is to the water rather than fitting the standard product and hoping.

Can you build pool fencing on a Burleigh Waters canal block?

Yes. We build aluminium pool barriers to the Queensland pool rules, and on a canal block we set it so you keep the water view and still pass inspection.

Will a timber fence survive in Burleigh?

It can, if you are happy to maintain it. Salt air is hard on timber so it needs oiling and it will move more than steel or aluminium near the coast. Plenty of the older Burleigh Heads homes still choose it for the character.

How soon can you quote a Burleigh fence?

We do a free on-site measure and get an itemised written quote back inside 48 hours, with the right coastal spec for your block already priced in.
